 Mo's Talent: " A Dream Success"
I started my company before having a business plan or solid idea in place.  I believed that Mo Edjlali started his company before having a business plan or solid idea in place.  He was a believer that he had something to offer but just wasn’t sure what that was.  Coming from an entrepreneur background Mo had seen many businesses fail and some succeed.  With no formal business training and no outside help he began the process two years ago of creating what is now a 7 person company TalentFamily, Inc on track of growing 150% this year.

After being in business for 6 months with little success Mo realized that he needed help and desperately sought services that were low cost or free as he could not afford anything else.  The first place he turned to was the Arlington Economic Development Center.  They suggested that he contact the Arlington Small Business Development Center and that is where Paul Hall was introduced to him.   Until that point Mo was struggling to choose the direction of his business and had written two separate business plans, the first for the business that he currently was in and another that was similar but very different.   Paul read both the plans and thought that Mo should go ahead with the second business plan and so Paul encouraged Mo to develop the second plan.  Paul pointed Mo to tools and resources that would help properly develop a business plan.

Mo was determined to create a plan that would provide a solid foundation for our business and also one that would meet Paul’s approval.   In their second meeting Mo was able to more clearly communicate his new vision and direction.  Paul saw the potential in the new plan and immediately suggested ways that could help Mo to establish and grow.  In their follow up meeting Paul took the initiative to do some of the ground work research and gently pushed Mo in what they had come to realize was the right direction.  And now they continue to seek Paul’s advice and keep him updated on their progress.  Paul has been in effect on their Board of Advisors and Mo still turns to him when troubled with a major decision.

“ I thank Paul Hall and the Arlington SBDC for providing me guidance and assistance when I needed it most and could afford it the least.   As we continue to grow I keep in contact with Paul and he continues to help guide us.  I wonder where we would be if it was not for Paul and the Arlington SBDC.”  Said Mo when asked did he really think we were able to guide him in the right direction.
