Hurricane Isabel

Governor Mark R. Warner announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has approved 56 jurisdictions that are eligible for federal disaster assistance and other emergency resources to families, businesses, and state and local governments for damages sustained as a result of Hurricane Isabel.

Federal Aid for Virginia Hurricane Recovery is a summary of key federal disaster aid programs that can be made avaialble as needed and warranted under President Bush's disaster Deceleration issued for Virginina on September 18,2003

Individuals, families and business owners in need of recovery aid can apply immediately by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TDD) for the hearing impaired, from 7 a.m. to midnight seven days a week until furthernotice or visit the FEMA website www.fema.org.Those making application should be prepared to provide basic information about themselves (name, permanent address, phone number),insurance coverage and any other information to help substantiate losses.
